Amex Delta Credit Card - Up To 50,000 Miles Signup Bonus

Apply for either the Personal or Business Gold Delta Amex Card and get 25,000 miles after first purchase. Then use the Pay with Miles feature on Delta.com for any Delta or Northwest flight by 8/24/09 and Delta will refill your account with the miles you used - up to 25,000 miles, totaling 50,000 miles!

Pay with Miles lets you use miles to pay for flights. 5,000 miles takes $50 off a flight. So if you use 25,000 miles to take $250 off a flight, Delta will give you back 25,000 miles.
  • The card is free the first year, after which it costs $95 a year.
  • Be aware: If you use miles to pay for a flight, you won't earn miles on that flight, even if you are only paying for a small portion of the flight with miles.
From the terms and conditions:
This offer is valid for first-time Delta SkyMiles Cardmembers only. If you already have or had any other Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express Account(s), you are eligible to receive only the incremental difference between the Welcome Bonus miles offered herein and the amount offered with such other Account(s)

If you have a personal and apply for the business, you should get the whole thing.

If you are applying for the same card, I doubt it would work. As you only get the second half after spending the first half...

The only reason it might work, is that according to the terms and conditions:
"25,000 bonus miles will be awarded after your first purchase on the Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card in the increments of 10,000 as a Welcome Bonus and 15,000 for this special offer." So, you do have a chance of getting the 15,000. And if you do, then I would imagine you can get an additional 15,000 by using the first 15,000.

There is another side benefit in opening a second Amex card as well. Stay tuned for a post on that...

I have a question: if you can help me:

I have already a amex starwood BUISNESS credit card and very happy with it.

I have read your report (thank you very much for your advice)on the following card
I would like to apply now and begin trans. for a Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® World MasterCard®
after all-if to keep one, which is better as of now the Buisness or the platinum .
I already know the advantage of a buisness(double miles on aa.com 150.000 miles annualy max..)
but as a personal card:
is it as good as the amex starwood no trouble and confusion.

Thank you for your time.

Ari, thanks for reading, and welcome to the blog.

The personal and business AAdvantage cards both give 1 mile per dollar, and both stopped giving 2 miles per dollar at aa.com. The business card maximum is 150,000 miles a year, while the personal is 100,000.

The business one doesn't show up on your credit report. That can be good or bad, depending on the situation. One nice thing with the personal card is that you can spend over the credit limit. With the business card you can't do that.

Between the AAdvantage cards and the Starwood, Starwood wins hands down. Three main reasons: 1. Starwood points can be transferred to AA miles at 20,000 Starwood points for 25,000 AA miles. 2. It's cheaper 3. It's an Amex!

The only reason to keep the Citi card (after getting the 25,000 signup bonus) would be if you would be using it in places that don't accept Amex.

Shmuli, thank you for the reply,
interesting, I spoke to a representative before I Blogged you and she tolled me for the business it's 2 mile per dollar-maybe I heard wrong,

I was sent an email to receive 30.000 miles for a signup on any one,

I was just thinking maybe the business card is better for a reputation and gets you more places since again your more "busy and prestige" I believe she tolled me it's accepted with more rewards at many other places,

The credit report I am good with B''H

Thank you for your time.

one more thing, is there anything higher I can build up to after the PLATINUM (I believe the gold is lower)

posted with a different name, sorry for the confusion.

They used to give two miles per dollar at aa.com, but they stopped it a few weeks ago.

I don't think there is a higher card than the Platinum. The only thing better is if you are an elite member on American, then there is no limit to the amount of miles you can earn a year.

1. In the terms and conditions it says: Please allow 8-10 weeks after your first Pay with Miles transaction for the bonus miles to appear in your Delta SkyMiles account. But how long it will actually take, I have no idea.
2. Somehow I doubt it, but maybe. Try and ask them.
