This site has a directory for ordering free maps and travel guides for places in USA and Canada. Most of the links are from government tourism websites.
The site is not visually appealing but has many useful links. I had some free guides mailed to me and enjoyed them. Some guides have a shipping charge, but plenty are totally free.
